QA Tester Client side (closed)
Our client is a leading management consultancy based in New York City, specializing in the Investment bank arena.
We are currently seeking a senior QA tester you will be required to plan and prepare and execute the required tests for a project within a leading investment banking giant. You will be building the framework for *server side* testing. This is server side not GUI side testing. Ideally you will also have experience in FIX messaging.
The ideal candidate will have all/most of the following skill set:
Proven testing experience (planning, test case design, execution, defect management)
Thorough knowledge of functional and non-functional testing using structured testing techniques
Experience in performing technical testing roles that cover message level testing, batch testing, and transactional testing
Experience in building utilities that enable data generation: that support test execution and result capture.
Experience in the testing of Non-GUI systems with particular knowledge of interface/integration testing requirements.
Risk-based approach to developing test strategies for maximum value, and assessing impact and testing risk of software changes.
Strong client facing and communication skills (both verbal and written)
Strong knowledge of industry-defined testing services/methodologies
The above skill sets are vital for this position and the following list of skills would be Ideal:
Domain knowledge * i.e. financial sector and investment bank in particular
Good experience of working with FIX, MQ, JMS, XML, UNIX, SQL, File Processing
Experience in use of Greenhat: GHTester or QTP (Quick Test Professional)
Experience in working across a number of different system architectures (including n-tier and SOA) plus back end, front and mainframe testing.
Ability to build test harnesses and test simulators
Experience in the set up, maintenance and management of test environments.
Performance testing
Experience in network analysis and monitoring
Understanding of databases schemas (data flow diagrams, entity relationship diagrams, data design)
