The ideal Windows Engineer / Hyper-V SME candidate will possess the following experience:
Planning
Knowledge transfer from the current Hyper-V Cluster Manager; Cluster Shared Volumes and switches
Determine what VMs are to be relocated to other blade servers and cluster
Determine when these VMs can be moved, i.e. during business hours or after
Review Cluster Shared Volumes and understand current configuration
Review HP Pro Curve connectivity and redesign to allow for a failed switch
Implementation
Reconfigure Hyper-V Failover Cluster Manager to move a number of VMs from one blade server in HVCL4 to other blade servers in HVCL4 or HVCL1
Reconfigure Hyper-V Failover Cluster Manager to move the empty blade server from HVCL4 to HVCL5
Reconfigure Hyper-V Failover Cluster Manager too move 19 VMs from clusters HVCL1 and HVCL4 to HVCL5 to meet compliance regulations
Redistribute 64 network connections from 16 blade servers to the HP Pro Curve switches such that the ISCSI connections are on separate switches and taking into account considerations for Cluster Shared Volumes
Reconnect AD servers and Cluster servers to the HP Pro Curve switches according to network best practices
Reconfigure HP Pro Curve for failover
Review entire network connectivity and assess performance metrics; reconfigure as needed
